Want to read more about Tokyo?

Here are a few recommendations from me on Discover the Best Books, a nice website on the best books about everything. They asked me to do a post on the best books about Tokyo. This was a painful undertaking, mostly because I have shelves of books on Tokyo, with many in Japanese. It took me hours to decide, but only a few minutes to write them up.

These five books are ones that really opened my eyes, and should not be seen as definitive or final, but as a set of books that offer a way into knowing more about Tokyo. I hope everyone will find some book on there that might be interesting to them, as their personal choice.
